The rise of gastropubs underscores that “smart casual” applies to more than a dress code. These spots pair good food with good brews. Here are three that match up very well.

MORRISON’S, 430 Woodbury Rd., Plainview; 516-932-8460, morrisonsny.com

The Plainview restaurant features dishes such as deviled eggs, chicken potpie, fried chicken, burgers galore, pulled pork, Cobb salad, mahi mahi “deconstructed” fish tacos and a tasty rib-eye steak. Among the winning beers: Goose Island Sofie, Ithaca Java Power Coffee IPA, Westbrook Dark Helmet and Kelso Industrial IPA.

PARLAY, 210 Merrick Rd., Rockville Centre; 516-442-2600, parlayrvc.com

The motto here is “In Hops We Trust.” So sip a Barrier Barnacle Brown, Lagunitas Brown Shugga, a Victory Vital IPA, Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, Ommegang Nirvana IPA, Sierra Nevada Celebration and more. Sample the meatball sliders, four-cheese macaroni and cheese with chorizo, chicken and waffles, roasted chicken.

WATERZOOI,  850 Franklin Ave., Garden City; 516-877-2177, waterzooi.com

Belgian brews on draft highlight the exceptional list at Waterzooi, from Delerium Tremens and Affligem Blonde to Hoegaarden Wit and La Chouffe. And consider the Trappist ales and Brooklyn Local 1. At table, pick a zesty mussel pot, the cheese fondue, onion soup, beef and beer stew, the shellfish plateau, steak frites, steak au poivre.
