Low Tide Bean opens in West Babylon

A new waterfront cafe, Low Tide Bean, has opened in West Babylon just in time for the summer rush.
The Bergen Avenue cafe connected to the Bergen Docks is a sister outpost to four Bean Coffee Shops located in Babylon, Bay Shore, Sayville and North Babylon. Co-owner Julia Lagerstedt worked at the Babylon location for six years before opening Low Tide Bean in the former South Swell Taco locationon Memorial Day weekend.
"We just really hit the ground running and I’m so lucky that I had such a great staff with me because we went from zero to 100 so quick," she said.

The space is open for outdoor dining only, with tables lined along the water.
The menu includes classic deli breakfast favorites, such as bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches, açaí bowls, overnight oats and bagels. There are also muffins and cookies for those who prefer a sweet treat. Lunch options include a smashburger ($15.95), pickle brine wings ($11.50) and chicken tenders and fries ($10.95).

Low Tide Bean offers a few signature drinks such as "Tee time," an Arnold Palmer with raspberry syrup ($5 for a large), the "coco loco" iced latee with coconut and pistachio or the "golden hour" Americano with honey, brown sugar and cinnamon
The "late night drinks" menu includes the coco cold brew with vanilla vodka, coffee liqueur and honey foam and cinnamon.

"I feel like in a world that’s being taken over by so many chains and franchises to have something local and come in for a real chat with somebody and build a relationship is so special," Lagerstedt said.
