Mara’s in Syosset brings back live crawfish boil

The season of the live crawfish boil has started at Mara’s Homemade in Syosset.
Mara’s, which specializes in New Orleans cuisine as well as Arkansas-style barbecue, is pricing the delicious crustaceans at $15 per pound. The first shipment arrived on Dec. 2. Expect the zesty, Louisiana bayou mainstay to be available through Memorial Day.
Crawfish-stuffed bread, with baked crawfish and cheese in a hollowed-out baguette, is another way to enjoy these beauties. Mara’s also is offering a special holiday jambalaya, with chicken, andouille sausage, Gulf shrimp, and mussels.
And don’t forget the chocolate cream pie for dessert.
