Hometown culinary hero Marc Anthony Bynum competes Tuesday night on round two of “Chopped Champions” on Food Network. Bynum, a Newsday Long Island All-Star chef when he served as executive chef at Tellers Chophouse in Islip, left his post at Venue 56 in Hauppauge around the time he triumphed on Chopped’s “Quahog Quandaries and Pickle Puzzles” episode that aired on June 8.

If he wins Tuesday’s episode, Bynum will vie with three other victorious champions for $50,000 in the competition’s final round later this year.

The episode airs on Sept. 7 at 10 p.m. Here’s a little preview, courtesy of Food Network.
