What a lovely lunch I recently had at the new Lemon Leaf Thai Restaurant in Mineola, an offshoot of a Carle Place spot that’s taken up residence where Downtown Bar & Grill used to be.
While the menu is typical of most suburban Thai places, the kitchen does respect requests to turn up the heat. A massamum chicken curry, made with peanuts and potatoes, was every bit as palate-searing as asked for. In comforting contrast was the pad see-yu made with beef, stir-fried broad rice noodles, Chinese broccoli and eggs. With tax and tip, the bill came to about $20.
