Mirabelle, Stony Brook's olive-oil dinner

For the huile of it, Mirabelle restaurant is preparing a dinner centered on olive oil.
The four-star spot's six-course tribute will be held Wednesday, March 21. Cost: $60 per person. The event is co-hosted by The Crushed Olive shop, also in Stony Brook. It will be held at the Three Village Inn, where Mirabelle is located.
Chef Guy Reuge's menu includes olive oil-and-preserved-lemon braised artichoke with black-olive tapenade; foie gras with dried fruits in olive oil and raspberry balsamic vinegar; olive-oil poached Scottish salmon with California olive-oil mayonnaise; beef short rib with olive oil-Yukon gold potato puree; olive-oil cooked loin of veal; and olive-oil scented chiffon cake with olive-oil ice cream, balsamic vinegar glaze, and strawberries.
