Mitch & Toni’s in Albertson has launched two money-saving menu options for fall.

Chef-owner Mitch SuDock has introduced a “small bites” menu, with 14 items, among them falafel with tahini and tzatziki, Kobe sliders, corn cakes with braised duck, tomatillo and sour cream, kung pao shrimp. “What’s the difference between the small bites and the appetizers?” I asked him (as I have been wanting to ask scores of area chefs). “The small bites are a little smaller than an app, and more simply plated.” SuDock’s are priced at $12 but on “Munchie Mondays,” they are all $9.

On Sundays and Wednesdays, Mitch & Toni’s runs a “3 for $30” prix fixe.” SuDock offers a few choices for each of four courses (appetizer, fish, meat and dessert) and diners can chose to eat any three of the four courses. A recent menu:

  • Appetizer: Oysters on the half shell (three) or fettuccine with wild mushrooms or steamed mussels
  • Fish: Wild striped bass or sesame-crusted tuna
  • Meat: Grilled flat iron steak or roast chicken breast
  • Dessert: Sorbet or Nutella-filled crepes

Mitch & Toni’s is at 875 Willis Ave., Albertson, 516-741-7940, mitchandtonis.com.
