Bid adios to El Pio and hola to Mochika Restaurant, which moves into the Glen Cove storefront that, in the past, hosted two other Peruvian places, La Caravana and El Misti — with the Italian-Continental Due Pazzi and Café Aioli interrupting the flow.

Chef Irine Carmona offers the cuisine of Lima and a focus on Inca traditions. On the restaurant's moderately priced menu: causa rellena, mashed potatoes stuffed with chicken or tuna salad ($6), chaufa with beef or chicken, a South American take on Chinese fried rice ($12) and Inca-style seafood soup ($15).

The restaurant is open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight and on Saturday and Sunday until 1 a.m. A Peruvian weekend breakfast menu will launch shortly.

Mochika Restaurant is at 63 Glen St., Glen Cove, 516-780-7029.
