After a 12-year run in Bellmore, Morning Rose Cafe has closed, according to an announcement posted on the restaurant's website signed by owner Rose Tzanetos.
The restaurant was already scheduled to be temporarily closed through Sept. 11 for a break but, Tzanetos wrote, "I have had some time to reflect in the last few weeks and decided that we will not reopen following our vacation."

Morning Rose Cafe opened on Bedford Avenue in 2013, serving all-day breakfast and brunch. A renovation in 2018 added a waiting area, entrance ramp and handicapped-accessible bathroom, Newsday reported.
Its menu was full of comfort food — pancakes, sandwiches, pulled pork waffle sliders and more.
"It has been such a pleasure to get to know so many of you, who have become like family over the years. We appreciate you more than words can say," the statement says.
Tzanetos did not immediately return a call for more information.
Reaction to the closing posts on Instagram and Facebook was swift.
"You guys were seriously the BEST brunch place on Long Island," Eliza Carson Demeri, of Wantagh, wrote on Instagram.
