When budgets are a little tighter, the appeal of casual, pubby restaurants grows. Here are three to sample for the informal food and the right price.

Recommended: wedge salad; turkey meatloaf; skillet-roasted chicken; fried chicken; pastrami grilled cheese; grilled chicken club; filet mignon French dip; fish tacos; panko-crusted ribs; vegetable chili. Moderate.
