Mother Kelly’s location opens in Rockville Centre as takeout-only spot

Attention Mother Kelly’s fans: You can now find spinach pizza and balsamic chicken in Rockville Centre. The Gobetz family has opened a second location, a small takeout-only spot at 171 Maple Ave.
The opening marks renewed vitality for the business after the Cedarhurst location closed in 2014, when the building was sold. A full-service branch in Syosset is up and running.
Glenn Gobetz said he’s overseeing the takeout restaurant with his brother, Mark, and they’ve brought three cooks from the closed Cedarhurst spot to run the kitchen.
His sister, Lisa Lanese, heads the Syosset restaurant, where their mother still works on weekends, peeling garlic or greeting people at the door. “She’s said she’s too young to retire,” he said.
