National Doughnut Day means free treats

Doughnuts are treats that don't really make sense for any meal. They aren't filling enough for breakfast, but they're on the heavy side for dessert. Therefore, logic dictates that doughnuts are appropriate whenever, wherever, the craving strikes.
Celebrate the emptiest of empty calorie sweets Friday. It's National Doughtnut Day, if you need an official reason.
And a couple of national chains are making this holiday even easier by giving away free doughnuts.
At participating Dunkin' Donuts, get a free doughnut of your choice with the purchase of a beverage. That means you could try new flavors including lemonade and key lime, or go with a classic glazed. Click here for a list of Long Island Dunkin' Donuts locations.
