Joseph Balbo, who earned three stars in Newsday for his cooking at Trattachino in Wantagh, is the new executive chef at Porto Vivo in Huntington.

Balbo was a consulting chef at Sugar in Carle Place before joining Porto Vivo.

Sugar's new executive chef is Lucas Hadoulis, who cooked at Il Cortile in Manhattan's Little Italy for 15 years and has been a consulting chef on Long Island, most recently at Ciao Baby with branches in Commack and Massapequa.

The new chefs expect to update the menus at their new establishments. Both Porto Vivo and Sugar currently are rated two stars, or very good, by Newsday.
