New 'cue in Oceanside
Where there’s smoke, there’s usually a new barbecue spot. A first for Long Island – and New York – is Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Oceanside. It’s part of a Texas-based national franchise that dates back to 1941.

Fired up about: Deeply smoky succulent “signature” chopped brisket, piquant- sweet jalapeno barbecue beans, comforting baked potato casserole.
Lukewarm on: So called “fall-off-the bone” pork ribs that were dry and stuck to the bone.
