Call it bed and barbecue: The Rockville Centre Best Western is now home to Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, a Texas-based national franchise dating back to 1941.
You may remember that a Dickey’s opened in Oceanside last year but lasted only a few months. Perhaps this counter-service spot will have more success.
On the menu: sandwiches ($4 to $7.50) and meat plates ($7.50 to $9.50), with a choice of pulled pork, chopped or sliced beef brisket, Virginia-style ham, turkey breast, marinated chicken breast, Polish sausage, hot links or pork ribs. Among the sides: mac and cheese, baked-potato casserole, barbecue beans and green beans with bacon.
