New in Southampton: Outeast Cafe

Eating out on the chi-chi East End isn't always geared to movie moguls and Real Housewives. The new Outeast Cafe, which occupies the former digs of Regulars Music Cafe, is all about the low key and affordable. Right now, only breakfast and lunch are served, but once a liquor license comes through (which should happen before Memorial Day), the place will feature cocktails and dinner.

In the kitchen are co-chefs (and cousins) Julia Ramos and Minnie Ramos, who used to cook at the Fairway Restaurant at the Poxabogue Golf Center in East Hampton. On their menu: a “buenas dias” omelet ($10.50) featuring house-made pico de gallo, pickled jalapeño, Monterey Jack and sour cream, as well as a Cobb salad ($12), and a “left coast” burger stuffed with Swiss and topped with avocado, tomato, onion and citrus mayo. Hand-cut fries ($3) are a specialty.

Events planner Aerin Suh said that live music will be featured once or twice a month, along with sporting events. The place is also available for catering and private parties.
