Peter Gianotti reviews The Grill Room in today's Newsday, giving the Hauppauge restaurant two stars. "What really will attract you," he writes, "is [chef Miguel] Berrios' sure hand with dishes both traditional and not-so" -- like the duck tostada, above.
Cafe Taka is a "veritable kebab magnet," Joan Reminick writes in this week's Cheap Eats review. She gives the Turkish restaurant in Bay Shore two stars, touting "souper soups," "irresistible kofte (Turkish burgers made with beef and lamb)" and "well-spiced Adana kebab," among other dishes.
