Vintage Restaurant Bar and Lounge in New Hyde Park has closed and plans to reopen with another name and another concept.

As soon as it opened in January, Vintage, which earned two stars in Newsday, became embroiled in a dispute with another Vintage on Jericho Turnpike — Vintage Bar and Grill in Jericho (the offshoot of Vintage Prime Steakhouse in St. James). A few weeks ago, the New Hyde Park sign came down and Thursday night, the last supper was served.

Chef Giuseppe Capobianco is staying on, as are two of the three original owners, Michael and Judith Stines. Capobianco said that Michael Imbriano, who had been managing partner, is no longer associated with the restaurant.

According to Capobianco, the changeover should be completed in the next few weeks. The menu will shift from Italian-steak-New American to Italian-Continental, but a new name is still up in the air. Might I suggest Piccolo? There are only four restaurants on Jericho Turnpike so named.
