The debutante on the Babylon restaurant scene is Nocturne, which takes over the space that last housed Bistro 111 and, before that, Pronto.

“It’s a French-style bistro,” said chef-owner Mark Hrisho, who came into the culinary world after a 30-year career in retail.  Assisting him at Nocturne are his son, also named Mark Hrisho, as bar manager, and his wife, Suzanne, as hostess.

Hrisho’s specialties include a duck confit crepe ($13), pan seared scallops ($24) and a proprietary burger ($14) whose toppings include sherry mushrooms and, for an extra $6, seared foie gras. Both pommes frites and pickles are house-made, as are desserts —  among them a citrus brown butter cake ($8).

The restaurant offers a three-course prix-fixe at $32, available nightly — for now.

Nocturne is at 111 Deer Park Ave., Babylon, 631-482-9909
