On Saturday, the North Fork welcomes a new wine and beer tasting room: the aptly named North Fork Tasting Room in Baiting Hollow. It is the brainchild of Frederick H. Terry, and shares premises with Terry’s family-friendly seafood restaurant, The Lobster Roll Northside. (It was Terry and his father who opened the Amagansett landmark Lobster Roll — affectionately known as “Lunch” — in 1965. The Baiting Hollow “Northside” location opened in 1999.)

The NoFoTaRo will be pouring the wines of more than a dozen local wineries, including Paumanok, Bedell, Sparkling Pointe and Palmer. In addition to tastings, you can enjoy wines by the glass or by the bottle. Breweries represented include Greenport Harbor, Long Ireland and Great South Bay. To nibble on: cheeses (including those from Peconic’s Catapano Goat Dairy), cured meats and olives. A “marketplace” will retail locally made products such as North Fork Potato Chips and Taste of North Fork preserves.

North Fork Tasting Room’s hours are Thursday and Friday, noon to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday noon to 8 p.m. This weekend, from noon to 5 p.m., there will be complimentary tastings and live music.

North Fork Tasting Room is at 3225 Sound Ave., Baiting Hollow, 631-727 9513.
