Northport: Dinner catch @ The Whale's Tale

One recent sun-splashed evening, I dined on the deck of The Whale’s Tale in Northport. From what I could see, the place was running on all cylinders despite its late-night party scene having been curtailed by the Northport Village board of zoning appeals.
From the “fresh catch” roster, I ordered swordfish “fish and lime” style, in a butter garlic “scampi” sauce done with lime instead of lemon. It was light, fresh, lovely. Very lively, too, was my compadre’s chicken “loco,” spice-blackened “Cali Cajun” style and topped with mango salsa.
The Whale's Tale is in the Brittania Yachting Center, 81 Fort Salonga Rd., Northport, 631-651-8844.
