Northport: La Casa Cafe closed; up for grabs?

La Case Cafe at Crab Meadow Beach in Northport has shut for the season, its lease due to run out Dec. 31, its future up in the air.
Owner Joe Celano (who also owns La Casa Pizza in Northport) says he is one of several interested parties putting in bids with the Town of Huntington for a new 20-year lease on the prime beachfront property. To put it kindly, the place is in need of a makeover — something Celano said that prior short leases didn't allow for.
So whose castle in the sand will it be? Stay tuned for updates.
