Nina’s Pizza Restaurant in Northport, once little more than a grab-and-go pizzeria, has redefined itself. It now features table service and, in warmer weather, outdoor seating. An added enticement is an ongoing wine special: $10 for a bottle of the house merlot or cabernet.
At dinner recently, a surfeit of red sauce marred an otherwise respectable plate of chicken Parmesan with spaghetti ($11.99). Penne and meatballs ($8.49) also came off as too saucy, the meatballs made with a bit too much bread. Neapolitan pizza, though, was just right.
The restaurant runs Facebook specials. Wednesday, for example, lasagna goes for $5.
