The Snapper Inn, situated on the waterfront in Oakdale, hosts a wine dinner on Friday featuring selections from Firestone Vineyard in California.

The cost of the five-course dinner is $75. It starts at 7 p.m. on Oct. 22.

Chef Maureen Denning's menu includes hors d'oeuvres such as tuna tartare, Thai-style shrimp, scallops sevice, chicken satay and a Brie tartlet, paired with the winery's 2008 Santa Ynez sauvignon blanc. They're followed by a sauteed crab cake with the 2008 Central Coast chardonnay; duck with arugula, frisee, walnuts, goat cheese and Craisins, with the 2006 Santa Rita Holls, Rancho Santa Rosa pinot noir; filet of beef with Gorgonzola-syrah cream sauce or rosemary-Bearnaise sauce, with the 2006 Santa Ynez syrah; and a chocolate-raspberry torte with raspberry ganache, with Firestone's late-harvest riesling.
