Bin 107, the successor to O's Food & Wine Bar, has opened, with a continental-New American combo menu and a streamlined dining room.
Chef Dino Vlacich, a veteran of Luce in East Norwich where he's now a consultant and the departed Mio in Roslyn, sends out very good manila clams oreganata, cavatelli in meat sauce, roast duckling and grilled pork chops. The house's winning desserts include banana cream pie and coconut creme brulee.
The look of the reborn dining area is defined by calm, earth tones and minimal appointments. And the service is good. .
Bin 107 is open 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Another Vlacich eatery, Ara International Bar & Grille, is expected to open in St. James soon.
