Harbor Mist has rolled into the waterview space in Cold Spring Harbor that recently housed 105 Harbor.

From the second-floor dining room, you get a pretty view, especially at sunset. There are so few good eateries along the North Shore that offer a window on the water that Harbor Mist is doubly welcome. It's an attractive place, with a busy bar and dining room on the first floor, and the sunny space on floor two. Veteran diners will remember this as the location of Inn on the Harbor.

The New American spot stands out with New York strip steak with fries and creamed spinach and risotti, which include a special of shrimp and chorizo as well as the wild-mushroom number. Seafood main dishes include sesame-seed crusted yellowfin tuna and grilled Montauk swordfish.

Harbor Mist is att 105 Harbor Rd., Cold Spring Harbor; 631659-3888.
