Open in Carle Place: 490 West
Another restaurant named for its address has opened. Three weeks ago, 490 West made its debut at 490 Westbury Ave., the space last occupied by Camille’s.
Chef-owner Pat Ippolito, a LI Culinary Academy of NY Institute grad, also owns a catering company. Ippolito said he strives to source ingredients carefully, going for what’s natural, organic and local whenever possible.
On his menu: an appetizer of pork belly with braised lentils and Hoisin ($10) a pasta of house-made ricotta gnocchi with sage brown butter ($15 for small plate/$20 for large plate) and a main course of wild king salmon with pea puree, Yukon Gold potato mash and horseradish honey mustard ($25).
490 West is at 490 Westbury Ave., Carle Place, 516-338-0848.
