It's only fitting that an Italian restaurant offering pizza has moved into the digs once belonging to Pizzeria Uno in Lynbrook. The surprise is that the new Green Olive Bistro also offers Chicago pan pizza (the specialty of the site’s former occupant) as part of its repertoire of pies.

Here, it’s available only in 9-inch individual size ($8; toppings additional) and is described on the menu as having a “thick olive-oil laced crust with a layer of mozzarella, topped with hand-crushed Italian plum tomatoes.”

Chef Giuseppe Capobianco was both chef and owner of the former Cafe Picasso in Williston Park. Some dishes from his affordable menu in Lynbrook: grilled pulpo (octopus, $9), baked lasagna ($10) and almond crusted tilapia ($17).

The casual place features both counter and table service, allowing for a quick slice or a leisurely meal. There's also a communal table as well as a full bar.

Green Olive Bistro is at 693 Sunrise Hwy., Lynbrook, 516-881-7333
