Mesita Coastal Cantina is serving frozen Margaritas, ceviche and tamales in the Port Jefferson space that last hosted Tequila Jacks. The place is co-owned by Eric Goldberg and Matt McBride, who is also an owner at Parlay Gastropub in Rockville Centre.

In charge of the kitchen is chef Victor Chicas, who last cooked at Parlay Gastropub. On the mostly Mexican menu: pork tamales ($8.50), blackened fish tacos ($14.95), steak fajitas ($16.95), chicken enchiladas ($13.95), chicken mole poblano ($17.95) and a fully loaded Mesita burger ($12.50).

In good weather, Goldberg said, floor-to-ceiling windows are open to the street. And on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, there’s live music and dancing.

Mesita Coastal Cantina is at 201 Main St., Port Jefferson, 631-509-0050, mesitacoastalcantina.com.
