Open: Perfecto Mundo in Commack

Perfecto Mundo is up and running in the former Commack digs of Maize Cantina.

A glance at the Latin-fusion menu reveals such dishes as a tortilla-crusted lump crab cake, Santa Fe Caesar salad and chipotle-orange-bbq glazed tilapia.

Fans of the former Maize may take comfort in the presence of a Maine lobster quesadilla at dinner as well as two arepas on the lunch menu, which kicks in Oct. 5.  A “bar snacks” menu (available in the main dining room at all times) features bbq pulled duck sliders and a grilled sweet potato pancake. Gluten-free dishes are asterisked.

Executive chef Steven Del Lima said that, on Oct. 6, the restaurant will hold a grand opening fiesta with half-price appetizers and margaritas as well as live music.
