Masago Neo Japanese Cuisine, named for fish eggs, is due to hatch tomorrow in the former Great Neck digs of Zutto on the west side of the peninsula.

The spinoff of a Ridgewood, New Jersey, restaurant, Masago is aiming to become an "every night" sort of place. Here's the deal: Monday to Friday, everything on the menu is slashed by 30 percent; Saturday and Sunday, that becomes 50 percent. A special lunch menu features a 15 percent discount.

Sample dinner prices: crispy duck salad, $12, yellowtail ceviche, $13, Masago sushi sandwich (spicy tuna, spicy salmon, tempura flakes, eel sauce, mango sauce and bonito flakes) chirashi, $18, tempura udon, $12 and lobster teriyaki, $26.

You do the math. If mine is correct, that would mean that lobster teriyaki would cost $18.20 on a week night and $13 on a Saturday or Sunday. Manager Steven Lin said the deal will remain in effect until the economy improves.

Masago Neo Japanese Cuisine is at 324 Great Neck Rd., Great Neck, 516-498-8888.
