Oyster Pond
Oyster Pond is a refreshing mainstay in downtown Montauk, recommended for new American cooking with an emphasis on seafood. The style is relaxed, the service is good. But in season, this is a popular spot. Reserve early. And try the spicy tuna roll, crab cakes with salsa and smoked tomato aioli, honey-sesame glazed tempura shrimp or a crunchy spring roll among the starters. Caesar salad tastes fine, as does the house's seafood chowder. Macadamia nut-crusted monkfish, fish and chips, lobsters and the grilled pork chop satisfy, too. And the individual pizzas can do double-duty as appetizer or entree.
