Bistro Toulouse in Port Washington has closed.
When the French (but not entirely French) dining spot opened, back in 2006, Newsday’s Peter M. Gianotti had this to say: “Practicality and flexibility ... are the cornerstones of this friendly new spot, where Maryland crabcakes are just as important as escargots ..."
Set to move into the space where Toulouse left off: Bistro Etcetera, a New American restaurant. Chef-owner Karen Melanie LaRocco, who grew up in Garden City, returns to Long Island from the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where she owned a place called Melanie’s Bistro. LaRocco said she’s aiming to open in November.
