Prime Burgers, Albertson: Chef Justin Gaines gone

The review of Prime Burgers in Albertson, which ran in yesterday’s Cheap Eats column in the Food section, names Justin Gaines as chef. Gaines is no longer affiliated with the restaurant. He said today that he designed the restaurant's original menu and also hired and trained its kitchen staff, leaving behind a recipe “bible.“ Owner Edward Shapiro said there is no new head chef at Prime Burgers.
Gaines previously cooked at Bouchon Bakery in Manhattan, both in the Time Warner Center and Rockefeller Center. He was a 2010 winner on Food Network's “Chopped.“
Gaines says he is in Manhattan with other projects in the works.
