A new menu at Prime Catch Seafood Grill in Rockville Centre enables you to be your own chef – in a manner of speaking.

It’s a mix-and-match kind of thing. You first choose your “protein” from a list that includes swordfish ($25), wild salmon ($24), St. Peter's fish ($21) and filet mignon ($30). Next, you alight upon a cooking style, deciding whether you want your food grilled, broiled, sautéed, blackened or pan-fried. Finally, you select a sauce, such as wild mushroom demiglace, roasted garlic scampi or chimichurri. Or a salsa, like pineapple-mango or tomato-cucumber-onion.

Owner Al Avci said he’s been getting an enthusiastic response from diners enjoying their own creativity. Whether you want to bet on your own culinary judgment or go with the actual chef's choice is your call.

Prime Catch Seafood Grill is at 41 S. Park Ave., Rockville Centre, 516-705-5340
