It's during off-peak times that savvy diners can snag bargains, thanks to alluring prix-fixe deals. Here are three worth checking out:

WEST EAST BISTRO, Hicksville

At this classy Asian Fusion spot, two different three-course fixed-price meals are offered Sunday to Thursday, all night. A $19.95 deal offers such main- course options as stir-fried chicken with garlic-ginger sauce; a $24.95 alternative features crispy jumbo shrimp with candied sesame walnut.

LOLA'S KITCHEN AND WINE BAR, Long Beach

An upbeat vibe prevails at this stylish bistro with a fixed-price $20.12 three-course menu Sunday to Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. Start with an appetizer, such as mussels in sweet vermouth and tomato sauce, followed by soup or salad, then a main course -- perhaps hanger steak or maple-glazed salmon.

JACKSON'S, Commack

The $24.95 prix-fixe is available all day, every day at this bustling Commack eatery. Dinner may start with a tropical salad or soup, followed by an entree such as Georgia peach-glazed chicken or Mediterranean salmon. Dessert could be a brownie sundae.
