Get around, get around, you get around.
The Beach Boys surf into the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on Sunday. You can stay in a suitable mood all weekend, channeling your inner lifeguard at these casual spots.
Swingbellys Beachside BBQ Long Beach will fortify you for the biggest wave, the hottest day and whatever else comes your way. Pitmaster Dan Monteforte is a skilled pro at the art of slow-smoking. Try the pulled pork, beef brisket, baby back ribs, St. Louis ribs, smoked half chicken, smoked andouille sausage, pickle chips and Cuban sandwich. Great Key lime pie, too.
You'll be near the surf at South Edison in Montauk. Before or after sport, enjoy the raw bar, seared yellowfin tuna, fish-and-chips made with hake, olive oil-braised octopus tacos, and, of course, a lobster roll.
Maybe your fantasy beach to surf is in Sicily. Sicilia Risturanti in Levittown is sufficiently transporting. Go for fried chickpea fritters, or panelle; fried rice balls; baked swordfish; and bucatini with sardines, fennel, pine nuts, black currants and sprinkled bread crumbs.
