Newsday's Joan Reminick unwinds "over some good Thai cooking" this week at Raan Thai in Smithtown. She gives the new spot one-and-a-half stars, recommending two "heady, fragrant, complex" soups, Thai roasted pork omelet and a "very good pad Thai" among other dishes.
Vitae, Chef Lawrence Palladino's "refined, Continental-New American combo," gets two stars this week from Peter Gianotti in today's Newsday. He praises pan-seared scallops with parsnip puree, saffron-infused mussels and "an exceptional pan-roasted Berkshire pork chop," along with other dishes at the Huntington restaurant.
