Rockin' is right.
Rockin' Fish, this new Main Street magnet, is filled to overflow, with diners and with beer.
Rockin' Fish is the newest from chef-owner Rob Haddow of Crossroads Cafe in East Northport. His gastro pub, full of exposed brick, blackboard specials, and elbow-to-elbow seating, centers on seafood. But the very good selection of brews fuels the high-decibel place.
On the plate, some solid choices are the whole, crisp red snapper ($25), curled on mashed potatoes; seared diver scallops ($24); and the fried rock shrimp appetizer ($12). The watermelon salad ($5) is a refreshing starter.
Reserve a table or be prepared to wait.
Actually, you may have to wait anyway.
Rockin' Fish, 155 Main St., Northport; 631-651-5200.
The catch: crisp red snapper.
