Trattoria Diane is temporarily closed because of a kitchen-exhaust malfunction. According to chef-owner John Durkin, the problem was discovered during dinner service on Saturday night and after diners left, the restaurant closed for repairs.

In Friday’s Newsday, Trattoria Diane was awarded 3½ stars from Peter M. Gianotti so the timing couldn’t be worse. Durkin expects to reopen within a few days, and as soon as he does, you’ll read it here.

Trattoria Diane is at 21 Bryant Ave., Roslyn, 516-621-2591.
