Every summer, the James Beard Foundation holds a summer gala, “Chefs & Champagne,” in the Hamptons. This year’s honoree is Martha Stewart and the festivities will take place on Saturday July 24 at Wolffer Estate Vineyards in Sagaponack.

The event benefits the James Beard Foundation (mission: “To celebrate, nurture, and preserve America’s diverse culinary heritage and future”) and features Champagne, the wines of Wölffer Estate, and dishes prepared from more than 30 big-time chefs. For example:

Marcus Samuelsson (recent winner of Top Chef Masters): Grilled fish tacos

Todd English (Tuscany at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn.): Pastrami-spice-rubbed Kobe steak with lobster-corn butter, polenta fries and cherry-pepper aioli

Anita Lo (Annisa, Manhattan): Steak tartare with Korean chilies, Japanese yam and Asian pear

Michael Ginor (Lola and Tel Aviv, Great Neck): Grilled Hudson Valley foie gras with duck prosciutto and peach chutney

Jason Weiner (Almond, Bridgehampton): House-smoked bluefish with Greek yogurt and dill

VIP Admission ($350) begins at 4:30 p.m. and includes reserved seating, an exclusive hour of Champagne, wine and hors d'oeuvres, special VIP gift bag and admission to VIP after-party.

General Admission ($195 for James Beard Foundation members, $250 otherwise) begins at 5:30 p.m.
