Following the opening of the Wantagh eatery in 2021, Scoops and Cones Cafe expanded to Farmingdale in 2023. However, this week was the Farmingdale location’s last in business. Fret not, fans; the Wantagh spot remains open.

In an Instagram post, owner Thomas Cacciopoli informed patrons of the closure on Feb. 11: "It is with a heavy heart that we announce Scoops and Cones in Farmingdale will be closing permanently after Sunday, Feb. 15."

The popular spot sold a large assortment of creamy flavors imported from Maine, and seasonal ices from Uncle Louie G's, featuring flavors like peanut butter caramel cookie dough and cannoli ice creams, and blueberry oat crumble and raspberry chocolate chip yogurts. Inventive treats like "waffle yachts" — two scoops, four waffle sticks and two toppings — and brownie and cookie bowls, which feature two scoops and three toppings over brownies or chocolate chip cookies were also a hit. Freshly made crepes filled with Nutella and banana, doughnut sandwiches, flying saucers and an assortment of shakes, including those mixed with childhood cereals like Lucky Charms, Fruity Pebbles and Cookie Crisp rounded out the offerings.

When you need your Scoops and Cones fix,  the goodies live on in the shop's original Wantagh location. As Cacciopoli explained in his closing post, "this is not a goodbye, it’s a see you in Wantagh."
