Shake Shack fans rejoice: The New York City-based burger brand debuts its easternmost Suffolk County restaurant today, in Selden. The sixth Long Island outpost, the new location boasts Long Island’s first Shake Shack drive-thru.
On Thursday, the first 100 guests picking up via drive-thru will get a free Shack Burger, a quarter-pound Angus beef patty with secret sauce, lettuce, tomato and cheese on a potato bun. Hungrier bellies can opt for the Shack’s latest offering, a limited-time Big Shack — a play on the Big Mac, we presume — made with two quarter-pound beef patties, secret sauce, lettuce, tomato, American cheese, pickles and onions, on three, yes three, buttered buns. Clocking in at 56 grams of protein, the new burger is $9.99.
Of course, all the usual Shack suspects are also available, from hand-spun milkshakes to cheesy French fries, veggie and ’Shroom burgers to chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. Seasonal holiday offerings like the Christmas cookie shake with sugar cookie flavored custard, the sticky toffee pudding shake, and the peppermint bark chocolate shake — all for $9.99 — round of the sweet endings.
More 2026 openings include The Shops at SunVet in Holbrook, Tanger Outlets in Riverhead, Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, plus, as Newsday previously reported, another drive-thru will open in Commack in early 2026.
Shake Shack made its debut on Long Island in 2012 with an outpost at The Gallery at Westbury Plaza in Garden City. In addition to the upcoming flurry of openings, the brand has five other locations across the Island: in Lake Grove, Melville, New Hyde Park, Oceanside and Westbury.
Shake Shack Selden, 618 Middle Country Rd., Selden, shakeshack.com; 631-397-2045, Open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
