It may be off Main Street, but Patchogue’s new bar-restaurant, Side Street Dive, is hard to miss. The eatery takes over the former Burgerology which closed in 2024.
Owner Max Feinberg, who also owns Bull Smith’s Tavern and Borelli’s Taproom in Long Beach, said he's had eyes on the location for years, and factored downtown Patchogue's popularity into the new name.
"We know that we’re hidden here a little bit off the beaten path, so we really wanted to embrace the fact that we’re on a side street in the name, so that people know we’re here," he said.

Feinberg described Side Street's vibe as an "American sports bar-style, tavern-style menu," with an Italian flair. There's chicken parmigiana ($19), shrimp oreganata ($22) and chicken capricciosa, a fried cutlet topped with tomatoes, onion and balsamic ($23). Pastas include penne a la vodka ($17), baked ravioli ($17) and penne with broccoli rabe ($22). A dozen pizzas include a classic margherita with vodka sauce ($22), eggplant ricotta ($21), and pepperoni with hot honey ($21).

There's room for more than 100 and 18 televisions by which to keep up with sports games. The striking back patio — with expanded sectional seating and heat towers — can be enclosed to become an extension of the dining room.
“I think the patio is one of a kind for this type of venue. You see it at some places on the water but they’re few and far between, and I think you really feel like you’re not on Long Island. You feel like you’re in a Caribbean destination when you’re sitting out there,” Feinberg said.
Still to come: Sports-watching events and brunch, along with a patio and bar menu.
