You can raise your beer stein — and then take it home with you — at the Oktoberfest dinner slated for Friday, Sept. 30, at the Southampton Publick House in Southampton.

The event runs from 5 to 10 p.m. and will feature German food, happy-hour prices all night, and live polka music provided by the New York Klezmer Ensemble. There will also be a raffle to benefit the Southampton Historical Museum, which was hard hit by Tropical Storm Irene.

Everyone gets a complimentary beer stein and the first pint of beer is free. If you dress in Oktoberfest finery, you’ll get a second pint on the house. The first 50 guests to arrive also get a free Oktoberfest T-shirt.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. To purchase, visit the restaurant or call between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. You might also get the tickets at the Southampton Historical Museum. Or call Anita Boyer (of Stressless Events) at 740-607-6748.

Southampton Publick House is at 40 Bowden Sq., Southampton, 631-283-2800.
The Southampton Historical Museum is at 17 Meeting House La., Southampton, 631- 283-2494
