The Coast Grill, a waterside mainstay for decades in Southampton, has new management and a new chef.

Stacy Navan and Brian Cheewing, a veteran Long Island chef, now run the restaurant, which is situated at the Peconic Marina on Wooley Pond.

The menu is New American. Main dishes include whole, roasted fish of the day; seared halibut with broccoli rabe and toasted farro; roasted free-range chicken with horseradish-smashed potatoes; and a seasonal vegetable fricassee, featuring French lentil and crumbled goat cheese. You also can select linguine with clam sauce, rigatoni alla Bolognese and lobster-and-wild shrimp fettuccine. Long Island duck confit, New England-style clam chowder, roasted local oysters and steamed mussels with garlic and herbs are appetizers. From Sunday to Thursday, before 6 p.m., there's a one-and one-quarter pound lobster special for  $21. Children eat free on Tuesdays from the kids' menu.

Cheewing's resume includes stints at Nick & Toni's in East Hampton as well as the departed James on Main and George Martin Steakhouse.
