Southfork Kitchen, one of the best and most ambitious restaurants of 2011, has closed.

The Bridgehampton site is to become Fresh, a new restaurant from veteran Long Island chef Todd Jacobs.

Southfork owner Bruce Buschel was not immediately available for comment. He continues to own the site.

Todd Jacobs recently was chef at the Allegria Hotel in Long Beach. He also was chef-owner at the departed Atlantica and Tierra Mar in Westhampton Beach.

Southfork Kitchen, situated on Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike,  earned a three-and-one-half star rating in Newsday for chef Joe Isidori's creative cooking. The restaurant was known for its commitment to sustainability and using local ingredients.

It was damaged by a fire on Memorial Day weekend in 2011, but reopened in June.
