Whatever the sport, whichever team you’re rooting for, one thing is for certain: energy is required. Here are a few eateries where the fare will fortify you for the festivities.

 

Rookies Sports Club in Huntington covers the game's major food groups, from chili-Cheddar fries and "loaded potato skins" to an onion-ring tower and nachos; plus 10 varieties of chicken wings (note Hell Fire and basic Buffalo), available on the bone or boneless; burgers in bulk, Kobe hot dogs, ribs, marinated skirt steak and, for anyone requiring such, salads.

The Main Event in Plainview ups the ante and the decibels. The choices include clams, oysters, shrimp cocktail, a combo of the three; chicken and grilled vegetable quesadillas, chicken wings either Southwestern barbecue-style or traditional Buffalo; peppercorn strip steak or strip steak teriyaki, filet mignon and marinated skirt steak; beer-battered cod and steamed lobsters from 1 1/2 to 3 pounds.

John Harvard's Brew House in Lake Grove expands the repertoire with dishes such as chicken potpie, grilled meat loaf with barbecue sauce, strip steak frites, smoked-chicken macaroni and cheese, a Cuban sandwich, a Roquefort cheese-capped burger and a Mediterranean burger with mozzarella, cherry peppers and basil pesto. Also: pulled pork, BLT and smoked-chicken sliders.
