O's Food & Wine Bar, a small-plate specialist, and Daniel Leeman of globalbeer.com, host a dinner on Monday highlighting Belgian brews.
The five-course dinner on May 2 costs $59.95 per person and will begin at 7 p.m. A representative from Brewery Van Eecke of Poperings Hommel Bier is expected to attend the gathering.
O's menu will include scallop-and-mussel seviche with grilled rosemary flatbread; salmon-and-baramundi gravlax salad with grilled asparagus and beurre-blanc dressing; beer-braised and caramelized pork belly with black figs, sauteed arugula and goat-cheese mash; pan-roasted lamb chop with curried spring vegetables; and a cherry-and-pistachio tart with pistachio ice cream.
Cherish Kriek, fruit lambic from Brouwerij Van Steenberge, will accompany dessert. Kapittel Pater, an abbey ale from Van Eecke, goes with the pork; Piraat, a pale ale from Van Steenberge, with the lamb; the hoppy Poperings Hommel Ale with the gravlax; and Wittekerke wheat beer from Brewery Bavik, with the ceviche.
O's Food & Wine Bar is at 552 N. Country Rd., St. James; 631-584-4600.
