Studio Grille opens in Selden

An eclectic menu and a late night Friday karaoke scene define the new Studio Grille, set back from the main road in the Independence Plaza shopping center in Selden.
Co-owner Lou Gallo described the interior as having industrial-looking high ceilings painted black. He also said that chef Michael Tambarkis makes virtually everything in house, including barbecue sauce and flat-cut seasoned Jo-Jo fries.
On the menu: Thai lettuce wraps with teriyaki-glazed chicken ($9), a steak burger ($10), a California hot dog wrapped in bacon and topped with grilled onions, relish and jalapenos ($9), a lobster roll ($11) and baby back ribs ($16). A signature dessert: Strawberries stuffed with a sweet tomato compote ($6).
The restaurant, which is closed on Monday, serves lunch and dinner as well as Sunday brunch.
